Displayed results promoted various sections of Yahoo.com according to a scoring formula, and encouraged users to post their results to Facebook and back to Twitter. As found on mashable.com: "It's cute, harmless and yet another way to celebrate the time of year. So what kind of seasonal Twitter user are you? Just enter your Twitter name to find out".

Questions were pulled randomly from a longer list to avoid predictability, destinations were mapped on a spinning globe for a visual effect, and users were able to receive hints for easier guessing. Because of excellent code portability and file size optimization, the quiz website was later repurposed for rich-media expandable banners.
Novell / Cube Ad
Client: Novell
Agency: IDG Communications
Project: Cube Ad
IDG owns many sites where it publishes tech articles and drives revenue from ads. Because all ads live on IDG sites, it allows them for great creative and technical freedom without the usual file size limitations. IDG wanted to produce a unique style ad for Novell that could be templatized for easy reskin and resell to other clients. We developed a 3D rotating cube ad where ActionScript rendered cube sides from static images at runtime, and 3D spinning with acceleration was controlled by mouse movement. The ad was able to detect what type of content each side represented, and it would appropriately show link for more info, pdf download, or launch a video player. The ad was setup to automatically track each user interaction and clickthrough.
Chase / Sapphire
Client: Chase
Agency: PJA Advertising & Marketing
Project: Sapphire banners and landing pages
We developed a number of expandable poll banners that displayed current results and collected users' opinions. Data collection and submission had to adhere to Chase's security restrictions for session authentication and data validation. All graphs were dynamically animated to reinforce the idea that the user was viewing live data. Each banner was served based on geo-targeting, and the displayed Zagat rated restaurants were relevant to the user's approximate location. All clickthrough landing pages were based on one xml configurable and data driven template. Users we able to reconfigure the landing page in real-time by choosing a different city or region from a simple pulldown.
Communispace / Homepage
Client: Communispace
Agency: Mechanica
Project: Homepage refresh
Communispace was undergoing a major redesign of the whole site. With the scheduled launch months away, we were asked to design and produce an interim homepage that would incorporate the new branding. Working with the existing html template, we redesigned mainly the promo area and made all content editable through xml to enable client edits using their Ektron content management system.
IDG Communications / WindowShade
Client: IDG Communications
Project: WindowShade
IDG wanted to create a pushdown banner template that could easily be deployed across all their brand websites: CIO, CSO, Computerworld, InfoWorld, and others. Based on their designs, we developed an xml driven template that allowed for content changes on the fly. While being modular, it also allowed for swapping out branding elements, to allow for easy reskinning and reselling to various IDG clients. We used Actionscript to create an animated news ticker and to animate transitions. The ad was smart enough to detect what type of content lived on the details pages and served appropriate details layout: link for more info, link to a pdf download, or a custom video player.
SolidWorks / Main Site
Client: SolidWorks
Project: Main Site
We were asked to use our Flash and ActionScript expertise to help develop a number of interactive components. Most visible was the homepage xml/database driven interactive slideshow with dynamic number of items, support for custom fonts, external content, and multiple languages. We also developed a countdown timer announcing the launch of the new website and a custom video player. The player was fully configurable through client's content management system which allowed for per video customization: setting player dimensions and behaviors, using optional "YouTube style" related links, and turning individual video controls on and off.
